All camps need the following paperwork:
- Camping and Outdoor Activity Application (COAA) form prepared and signed by the Scouter in Charge, and approved by the Group Commissioner.
- Registration forms and emergency contact details for all attendees (printout from myscouts), not just access to myscouts on your phone).
- Hold harmless forms for non-registered attendees.
- Extra set of the above to be handed into Camp Chief if required.
- Training completed for all adult participants (e.g. parent overnight)
- Camp-specific registration forms if applicable.
- Check vehicle condition (battery condition, spare tire for vehicle and trailer, oil and other fluids, ice scraper, fuel, snow tires, chains, jumper cables, antifreeze, lights, tire wrench).
The Mount Seymour Winter Camp at the Camp Luther Chalet has a kitchen, large sleeping areas and has all required cutlery, dishes, etc. The camp has the following:
- There is an oven and a large cooktop. The elements on the oven are junk, so bring the four burner stove.
- Fridge, coffee maker, toasters.
- Cooking dishes, knives, spoons, etc. are all there, but only about 60 mugs.
- There are a number of very large pots.
- Personal dishes are all there.
- Sleeping mats. There are double bunks with mattresses for anyone sleeping inside the cabin... unless you end up on the floor.
Go to the locker and get:
- Large rubbermaid tubs to pack food into.
10 or more water jugs (filled). Note that all cooking and drinking water needs to be brought in.
- Section flags and a loose Canadian flag to break during opening.
- Axe
- Toolbox with file, spare mantles, adjustable wrench, etc.
- Snowshovels
- Long ropes to hang clothes on and short ones to tie flags up on the balcony.
- Small ropes for knot work.
- Dish soap, scrub pads, 5 dishcloths, and 5 tea towels.
- Cleaning supplies (rags, Comet, and bottle of bleach) for outhouse (a grotty mop is at the cabin). We also need to wipe down the mattresses with some disinfectant spray. Assume that the place has nothing.
