Revision as of 11:34, 15 June 2019
For our year-end BBQ in mid-June, we typically congregate in a park (Queens Park or Lower Hume Park) and have an all-Section year-end BBQ.
We typically run the event on a Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
As with all Scouting events, youth and leaders should attend in full uniform.
Things to remember to do before the event:
- Book the park through the Parks Department. Do this early in the year so we ensure we get the spot. It often costs ~$100 to book.
Things to remember to get from the locker:
- Flags
- Flag block
- First Aid Kit
- Tug-of-war rope
- Juice jug
- Water jug filled with water.
Get Scouters to bring:
- Small BBQs, lighters, flippers, etc.
Things for one Scouter to organize:
- Set up google spreadsheet for people to sign up what they are bringing.
- Buy ~150 hot dogs and buns
- Check if leftovers from camp or buy:
- Ketchup
- Relish
- Mustard
- Napkins
- Plates
- Paper cups
Group Commissioner:
- Push out invitation through ScoutsTracker.
- Bring Awards and thankyous to hand out if required.
