Some food stores (Extra Foods, Save-on-Foods, etc.) have programs where groups can hold a hot dog sale in front of the business and keep some or all of the proceeds. The food store typically donates a few hundred dollars’ worth of food and also provides the barbeque and tools.
As with all Scouting events, youth should attend in full uniform.
Things to remember to do before the event:
- Book the event early. Approach the facility and see what requirements they have, i.e. waiver, insurance, exactly what they supply and at what cost, etc.

- Rope to hold the banner.
- Advertising literature for Scouting in New Westminster.
